The Valley Race Park, Gulf Greyhound Park, Gulf Coast Racing (Corpus) and the Texas Greyhound Association have all come together in an unprecedented agreement to propose a “Greyhound Racing Plan” before the Racing Commission.

Through extensive negotiations the Plan will keep live greyhound racing viable in Texas. The Plan was supported by all the Horse Racing Groups as well, since they recognized it will benefit the whole industry.

The Plan was presented before the Texas Racing Commission on Tuesday; April 12. 2016 and presentations were given by the Andrea Young, Valley Race Park, Sally Briggs, Gulf Greyhound Park, Marsha Roundtree, Texas Horseman’s Partnership and David Peck, Texas Greyhound Association.

It was unanimously approved by the Commission.

Live racing will start at the Valley Race Track from November 25, 2016 through February 4, 2017, for a total of 36 racing days. Each track will alternate similar dates in the future.

No kennel booking applications will be entertained at this time. Notice for submission of applications will be published at a later date.
