
Ray Wong’s fascination with greyhounds began when he adopted Bart’s Viper (Mel), in 2002. Mel’s easy-going ways and prolific winning style at Southland, inspired Ray’s interest in create storytelling images of the breed as well as the people who make the dogs what they are. Wong purchased his first racing hounds in 2009 and since then has been involved in their breeding and racing.
Wong is professor emeritus at Middle Tennessee State University School of Journalism where he taught visual communications for 17 years. Previously, he was a designer, photographer, graphics editor and picture editor at The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville, The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, MS, Philadelphia Inquirer and the Toronto Star. He earned an MA in photojournalism at University of Missouri-Columbia and BS in journalism from Arizona State University.
