TWO (2) days of oval racing at the Abilene Greyhound Park in Abilene Kansas, sanctioned by the National Oval Track Association on Saturday, April 22nd and Sunday, April 23rd, 2023. This event is open to eligible Whippets and Greyhounds only.

The Abilene Greyhound Park is the premiere training and practice facility serving the professional Greyhound industry, located at 617 Old 40 Hwy, Abilene, KS 67410. A sand track with rail lure, all races will be 330 yds (3/16th mile), 3 program, 4 dog race set up. In addition, all dogs will be boxed, and all races are timed, with each runners time posted. Roll call to begin promptly at 8:30am, with the draw and racing to follow at 9a (estimated).

 

Schooling practice for all dogs as well as qualifications for First-time Entered hounds will be offered on Friday, April 21st, 2023 between 4-6pm for a fee of $5/dog per run. When submitting your entries please indicate whether you will be entering dog(s)for Friday schooling, as well as to request a qualifying run if applicable.

You will need a copy of your dog’s registration (AKC, NGA) plus provide your name, address, phone number and email. All FTE dogs will need to pay a one-time $2.00 lifetime registration fee.

 

Entry Fees:

Cost to enter is $20.00 per dog per day with a $50.00 maximum per owner/handler per day. This does not include practice fees as outlined above. Late entries (after 4/16 and gate entry) will be accepted until 8:00 a.m. the day of the race. The cost will be $25.00 per dog, no household maximum. All fees must be paid before the start of the races

Please note, this event is taking place at Abilene Greyhound Park and not at the NGA Track. Any dogs visiting NGA grounds must be on leash or contained and vaccinated for canine distemper, Adenovirus type 2, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, Leptospirosis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, rabies & Canine Influenza Vaccine (CIV) at least two weeks prior to arrival. Proof of vaccination must be able to be presented upon request.
