ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – LK’s Santorini of Lashmet kennel continues to be the one to catch at Derby Lane.

Despite having her career-best eight-race win streak snapped this past Thursday, LK’s Santorini enjoys a four-victory lead over Kaias Alex of Floyd kennel in the win standings.

LK’s Santorini, a 43-month-old female from a litter by LK’s Vespar and LK’s Chardonnay, has 18 victories from 27 starts at the current meet. Kaias Alex, who won again this past Saturday, has 14 victories from 18 outings, including wins in six of his previous seven starts.

LK’s Santorini finished fifth in her latest effort, and is entered Tuesday in Race 10 at 2:47 p.m. She is the 5-2 morning-line favorite from box 3.

Kennel manager Ken Deacon trains LK’s Santorini for owners John and Jill Lashmet of Eaton, Colo.

Watson Racing had the most success last week with 14 victories in six performances. Derby Lane did not have a matinee this past Monday because of a water main break at the facility. Watson Racing ranks third in the 14-kennel standings with 183 wins.

Cal Holland kennel was the only other operation with double-digit wins for the week with 11.

Everett Racing continues to lead the kennel standings with 193 victories. Capabal kennel is second at 185.
