The Women of Greyhound Racing, begun in October 2013, is again honoring all women in our racing greyhounds’ lives, from farm to couch. Besides our semi annual Meet , October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At the Fall National Meet we sponsor a Stake Race and give a Trophy Blanket and pink muzzle and collar to the fastest female competing in the Meet. Secondly, and most importantly, we honor those women who have battled breast cancer by raising funds to donate to a nonprofit charity involved in outreach, research or support for breast cancer patients. This is the main goal of Women of Greyhound Racing, to honor and celebrate women and their greyhounds by paying it forward to a charity.

We are accepting donations now through Fall Nationals, will have a T-shirt fundraiser coming soon to Facebook, and will hold a Women of Greyhound Racing Auction on Facebook on September 17th and 18th. We will have two specially commissioned pieces, one jewelry, one art, both Breast Cancer and Greyhound themed, to auction at Friday night’s brood auction.

Please contribute if you can, either money or auction items. Auction items can be anything from semen vials to pet collars, anything and everything industry or pet related. For auction items, please send a description, a photo, donor name, retail value, whether shipping is paid to talidogs1@gmail.com or message me on fb. For cash donations, please make check payable to NGA, send to Women of Greyhound Racing, c/o Penny Wick, 4593 Kennedy Rd, Cottage Grove, WI 53527, or paypal to epw8@charter.net. Thank you very much, let’s continue to pay if forward, to celebrate and honor all our women but especially all those who have or are fighting the breast cancer fight.
