United Greyhound Racing Announces the Greyhounds for Skechers Photo Contest
In conjunction with Super Bowl XLVI, United Greyhound Racing today announced a “2012 Greyhounds for Skechers” photo contest.
Plano, Texas – In conjunction with Super Bowl XLVI, United Greyhound Racing today announced a “2012 Greyhounds for Skechers” photo contest.
Aimed at raising awareness of what wonderful companions greyhounds make once their racing careers are over, the contest runs through Feb. 4 and offers the winner a pair of Skechers GOrun shoes. Be a Giant greyhound and a Skecher Patriot by showing your love and support for greyhounds and Skechers.
“Greyhounds truly make great pets,” said Rory S. Goreé, Director of Welfare & Advocacy for United Greyhound Racing. “I can unequivocally state that the one constant that has remained is the personality of the greyhound. The greyhound is an extremely docile breed and the desirability of retired racing greyhounds as pets can be attributed to the care and attention they receive from the greyhound racing community. If you are considering adding a pet to the family, consider a greyhound.”
In addition to a pair of Skechers shoes, the winner of the contest will receive a greyhound themed eco-tote bag, a beautiful silver greyhound necklace and possibly more prizes.
The photo with the most “LIKES” will receive a donation of $300 courtesy of United Greyhound Racing, Tucson Greyhound Park and the American Greyhound Council to support their local greyhound adoption program.
Following are the contest rules:
Participants must submit photos online from Jan. 25-Feb. 4 (11:59 P.M. EDT) of your greyhound and Skechers on the United Greyhound Racing’s Facebook page. Creativity is urged and the entries must be positive.
Once participants have posted photo(s), let family and friends know and encourage them to click “LIKE” on their favorite photo.
Submitted photos must be the photographer’s own work.
Each contestant will be allowed to submit a maximum of two (2) photos.
On Feb. 6, judges will select a photo from the top three vote-getters. The top three photos will be judged by the United Greyhound Racing Board of Directors and chosen on creativity and originality.
