After posting a nice record at Mardi Gras Casino’s sandy oval of 16 starts with eight victories to his credit, the 76 pound black male stepped it up a notch when he arrived at Southland Park Gaming & Racing in late May of this year.  Known for a hard rush to the first turn, he wasted no time showing off those skills for our patrons.  Right off the bat he racked up a 5 ½ length official schooling victory.  He then won his second start in top grade by 2 ½ lengths.  After running into a streak of trouble in the following races, the son of Trent Lee switched over the longer Razorback Course.

It was over this 660 yard course that he posted his best streak of seven races at that time.  During that span he won two races and finished a close second in two others.  The dual distance running then switched back to the sprint course to get ready for the biggest stakes series at Southland Park.  He displayed his sire’s speed by a nice showing in the Sprint Championship Division of the “Festival of Stakes” this past October where he finished second in two of the four qualifying rounds which earned him a spot in the Consolation final.  That momentum has turned into a nice winning streak lately where the North Shore Kennel talent has put together a win streak of four of his last five races, including three straight in top “AA” grade.

For the season he is nearly 43% in the Quiniela with eight victories and (4) second place efforts in just 28 starts.  Keep an eye on this John Kelly owned speedster as we get ready to close out our 2011 live racing season!

Since 1989 I have been involved in one shape or form in the sport of greyhound racing.  My roots are buried deep in Iowa where I was born as raised.  Beginning my career as a leadout at Bluffs Run, the journey has taken me to several locations around the country including tracks such as Dairyland, Geneva Lakes, Birmingham, Derby Lane, Tampa, Palm Beach, Gulf, Dubuque, Wheeling and my latest gig at Southland in West Memphis, Ark.

I have also had the great pleasure to train and help take care of the greyhound athletes themselves for about 8 years.  The rest of the time I have worked on the racetrack side of the operation in every position of the racing department.  I'm currently the Director of Racing at Southland Park Gaming & Racing and on the Greyhound Hall of Fame Board of Directors.
