SEMIFINALS FOR PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $50,000 HE’S MY MAN CLASSIC SUNDAY AFTERNOON, JANUARY 15!
CAN RK’S CONK GONK ENTER THE FINALS UNDEFEATED?
West Palm Beach, Fl. - Semifinal action for Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $50,000 He’s My Man Classic takes place Sunday afternoon, January 15.
Two semifinal races will be contested with the top eight point scorers earning their way into the championship final slated for Saturday afternoon, January 21.
After 20 qualifying races, the sweet sixteen in point earnings will go muzzle-to-muzzle to determine which eight of these superstars will be going for the 2012 championship and the $25,000 first-place prize.
Race 10 features the second-highest point earner in the semifinals, #1 Riverview Stevie. Although there are several excellent early speed competitors in this event, he will most likely be the one to catch. On a side note, Stevie’s only loss in his last seven races came at the paws of #8 Atascocicta Bowl. The 545-yard Royal Palm Course track record holder is looking pretty sitting in his favorite post.
In Race 12, all eyes will be focused on the only undefeated Classic entrant, #3 RK’s Conk Gonk. In this event, the 2011 $20,000 Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes champ may find getting loose early a bit of a dilemma, having drawn in between two of the semi’s best early speedsters, #2 SE’s Rich Ronnie and #4 Jack’s Go Bayou. Timing on the break between these three athletes will be the determining factor as to whether Conk Gonk will win his fifth-consecutive endeavor.

The $50,000 He’s My Man Classic is the first event in Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $150,000 “Big 3" Stakes series, which includes the $50,000 James W. Paul 3/8ths Mile Derby (Saturday afternoon, February 25) and the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational (Saturday afternoon, March 17).
The Classic is named for Palm Beach Kennel Club racing legend and the track’s first multimedia sensation He’s My Man and dedicated to the man who raised and trained “Roscoe”, Bill Pappas.
