The Greyhound Hall of Fame unveiled a new website.

Hall of Fame News - What's in Store

The Greyhound Hall of Fame unveiled a new website in October just in time for convenient holiday shopping of greyhound gifts from the Hall’s Online Store. The website, which can be found at www.greyhoundhalloffame. com, has a completely new look but still includes all the same features such as pages on the Hall of Fame inductees, Pioneers, the Hall of Fame Club, Scholarships, links to other greyhound- related websites, and the Store.
The new website was created with the user in mind, according to Kathryn Lounsbury, Hall of Fame general manager. Hall of Fame Club members will be able to do renewals online and students interested in applying for the Hall of Fame’s Jason Dean Hunt Scholarship can download the application from the website.
“And we have gone to great lengths to make sure people’s credit cards are secure so they are safe when they order from the Store,” Lounsbury said, adding the website has been validated to have a secure SSL certificate which provides industry standard data encryption of information transferred from a customer’s computer to the website. “In addition to that, the credit cards are processed through a secure site called Authorize.Net.” The Greyhound Hall of Fame Online Store includes everything you might need on your holiday shopping list – jewelry, Christmas ornaments, figurines, clothing, signage, vehicle accessories, artwork, books, beverage ware and garden items. Prices range from a Greyhound On Board bumper magnet for $5.99 to a 15x15-inch wrought iron welcome sign with a racing greyhound for $67 to a bronze greyhound on a pillow for $250.
Jewelry often makes the perfect Christmas gift. Pendants and earrings feature greyhounds running, playing, standing, bowing, walking, outstretched and in the tucked position. Or, consider a pewter greyhound zipper pull or tack pin. “We have two beaded bracelets on the website done especially for the Hall of Fame by Donna Weeks, who owns racing and adopted greyhounds, ” Lounsbury said. “We’re always on the lookout for something new.” Christmas ornaments feature greyhounds in front of a gingerbread house, in a sleigh, in a unwrapped present, inside an open suitcase, and atop candy canes. There’s even a paw print gift box frame ornament to which you can add your pet’s photograph.
Signs are a fun greyhound item suitable for anyone who lives with a greyhound. You’re sure to bring a smile to the recipient’s face with “For the best seat in the house you’ll have to move the greyhound,” “Spoiled Rotten Greyhounds Live Here,” or “No home is complete without the pitter patter of greyhound feet.” Or perhaps you prefer a magnet that reads “A House isn’t a Home without a Greyhound!”
Unique gifts include a greyhound garden flag and a greyhound bottle stopper.
New items will continually be added to the Store as the holiday approaches, until every item that is available in the museum’s Gift Shop will be also available online, Lounsbury said.
Some work still needs to be finished on other parts of the website, such as including the biographies of every Hall of Fame inductee. “Eventually on the website we will have the biographies for each inductee and photographs if we have them,” she said. “I’d also like to include the pedigrees in the future.”
You can visit the site at greyhoundhalloffame.com
