Both auction pups from the Spring 2011 NGA Meet--featured in a short article in this section on Monday (see below)--have qualified for the finals of the $20,000 Dick Andrew Juvenile at Palm Beach.
Now, it's been learned that a third pup from last Spring Meet, KB's Decordova, purchased by Michael Seeger from Ken Biehle for $1,250 in the auction, has also made the finals.
SE's Star Leia and Turbo Porsha--who drew into Monday's semi-final race against each other, and who were tied at the time as the leading point-getters in the stake--have drawn the 4 and 3 post positions, respectively for the stake final next Monday, Dec. 26. Star Leia, owned by Arden Phifer, won the semi-final heat Monday, with Turbo Porsha finishing fourth.
KB's Decordova ran second in the same qualifying race--giving the trio of Spring Meet pups (all females) a 1-2-4 finish in that heat, with all moving on to the finals. Decordova, a daughter of Lonesome Cry-Tempo Jitterstik, ran fifth in The December Flite II Consolation last April in Abilene.
SE's Star Leia was a $3,500 auction purchase after winning a Flite II Consolation Stake in April, bred and brought to the auction ring by Steve Ward. Turbo Porsha was bred by Ed Gardner, Jr., and later sold to Norm Rader and Gary Samuels.
